The Brain, Immunology, and Glia (BIG) department embarked on their annual hike organized by Kristine Zengeler (Lukens lab) and our own Ryan Brown on November 3. The department learned the difference between Little Stony Man and Stony Man trailheads (some of us met at the wrong location). After enjoying peak fall colors at scenic overlooks, the department ate delicious sandwiches and beverages.
Meanwhile, Dr. Alban Gaultier was representing the lab by interviewing with NBC29 regarding fluvoxamine. This cost effective COVID-19 treatment has been tested in a clinical trial showing 60% fewer hospitalizations and 90% fewer deaths.
